Answers You Want.

Straight talk. You want it. We’ll give it to you.

Here are straight answers to questions folks most often ask us.

Questions: What if I don’t hear anything about my application?

Answer: Few things are worse than a recruiter not calling or emailing you back. We get it.

Truth is that we might have filled the job you applied for, called off the search, or learned that it was filled by somebody else.

We promise to call, email, maybe even text when we find a job that’s a good fit for you.

Until then, keep applying for other jobs on our site since we’re always posting new ones.

And keep sharpening those skills that make you…you!

Questions: Do you only work on federal government contracts?

Answer: Yes. We only work on (a) prime contracts directly with the federal government and on (b) subcontracts directly with prime contractors.

Questions: Do all your jobs require a government security clearance?

Answer: No. We support plenty of civilian contracts with agencies like the Department of Justice.

Questions: Will you help me prep for interviews?

Answer: Oh yea! We help you every step of the way.

Questions: What kind of jobs do you offer?

Answer: Most of our jobs are in the technology field.

However, because the field is so broad, we hire everybody from software developers and cybersecurity engineers to management consultants and policy analysts.

Visit our current openings to see if something fits your skill set. If so, apply to every job that suits you. And if none, definitely take a minute to submit your resume for future jobs.

Questions: What is the length for most of your lobs?

Answer: It all depends on the length of the specific government contract we place you on.

We generally prefer to hire and retain you as our own employee or contractor for the entire duration of a multi-year contract that is often three years or longer.

We’ll only place you on a contract you want and always – and we mean always – explain the contract term and possibility of it extending beyond the expected end date.

Questions: If I just finished a job with you, how do I get another one?

Answer: You apply for other jobs among our current openings. We advise everyone to continually apply for jobs even if they are already gainfully employed on a different project. And you are always free to pursue another position with another company.

Questions: If I decline a job offer, will you still work with me?

Answer: Yes, absolutely!

Our goal is to find you the right fit. This means you could easily go thru the process and find that something just isn’t right. It might be that personalities didn’t click just right, the commute is a bit longer than you imagined, or one of many other reasons.

All that matters is that we find you the right fit so that you love your work. You can turn down our job offer at any point. And we’ll keep working to help you find the work you love with the same gusto we had the first day you met us.

Questions: Are you going to offer me a competitive salary?

Answer: Definitely! Our goal is to always – always – to help you obtain the highest possibly salary for the role in which we are trying to place you.

Questions: Will you pay more than other companies?

Answer: We try. We can’t promise. You might even be able to make more money working for another company.

The reason for the disparity is simple – every federal contract has caps and limits on how much any given employer can pay you. We try our best to negotiate contracts that always let us pay folks salaries that exceed industry averages.

Questions: Who pays me – you or the client whom I support?

Answer: As long as you are employed by or contracted with West 4th Strategy, we will always be responsible for paying you thru our PEO, Insperity.

Questions: Do you offer benefits to all employees?

Answer: We offer a comprehensive benefits package to all full-time employees. Benefits coverage starts on the 1st day of employment.

Questions: Do you offer tuition reimbursement?

Answer: Yes. All salaried full-time employees are eligible for up to $3,500.00 in tuition reimbursement after 12 months of continuous service.

Questions: What is a contingent hire?

Answer: We sometimes make conditional job offers to folks who are a great fit for a job that we hope to obtain for you. In these scenarios, we complete the entire recruiting process but, at the end, extend a “Contingent Offer Letter” instead of an “Offer Letter.”

The difference is fairly simple and really only occurs in our world of federal government contracting.

An “Offer Letter” means you can start work on the date we mutually agreed to in the letter.

A “Contingent Offer Letter” means that the job (a) does not yet exist and (b) will not exist until a few sequential conditions are met.

Officially, you do not have a job with us just yet.

Here are the conditions we must meet to remove the contingency. One, we need to win the federal contract on which the job would exist. Two, we need to confirm with you that everything looks as you expected. Three, we set a start date. And finally, (yea!) we issue you an “Offer Letter” that supersedes the “Contingent Offer Letter.” At this point, everything is identical to what you normally expect.
It’s straightforward in practice. Plus, our recruiters give you straight talk from start to finish.

Questions: How do I start the process?

Answer: Easy! Visit our current openings to see if something fits your skill set. If so, apply to every job that fits you. And if not, definitely submit your resume for future jobs.
